Jesus Paid It All, But For Who?

The Dallas Morning News has a great piece on Maury Davis, convicted murderer turned mega-church pastor. But this story brings up some interesting questions. Can someone who committed a heinous crime really be saved? At what point has he paid his debt to society?
“I did something heinous, not just awful,” says Davis, who slit the throat of 54-year-old Jo Ella Liles in broad daylight in a peaceful middle-class Irving neighborhood in 1975. “Unless you go to a Charles Manson level, it’s out there.” Source: Dallas Morning News
Just as interesting as the article itself is the comments about the article on the DMN website, scroll below the linked article to see them. You can see there are a lot of strong emotions about this.
I’ll offer my two cents for what they are worth. Jesus’ atonement for our sins even includes those of Maury Davis, Tex Watson, etc. God sees all sins for what they really are, sin. When He paid the price for sin, he really paid it all.
Shalom,
