What?

Well, you may be a little bit confused at this point. A short time ago I posted here that I deleted all my previous posts and was wanting to take my blog in a new direction. Today I restored all my old posts. What gives?
From the beginning, my blog has has lots of posts about my faith and how that shaped my view of the world. I wanted to take my blog in a more secular direction and so I deleted all the posts after exporting them all out. This, apparently caused my wife some concern. She’s a wonderful woman and very astute. She’s put up with my moodiness for 21 years and can usually tell when something going on. She wondered if my change in direction was motivated by something else either consciously or otherwise.
I wanted to change directions with my blog. Exactly what was the root cause of this desire is subject to conjecture. I have, for sometime been spiritually restless. Not that I have been questioning the fundamental tenants of my faith. However, I have been questioning how that faith should shape my actions and how that faith should cause me to live my life. I have also been thinking a lot about theological minutiae.
In order to keep from freaking people out I am restoring all my old posts. The old Scott is back. You can all rest easy now. I am removing the cause of the appearance of heresy.
I may still be a heretic in that I’m not sure American Christians are living as Jesus would have us live. For example, recently one Christian organization that seems to speak for most evangelical American Christians spent $1.25 million dollars trying to influence the last presidential campaign and then recently announced the layoffs of hundreds of loyal employees. Would Jesus have a Christian ministry spend a pile of money on an election or using that money to keep your employees in a job so they can feed their families? I tend to think that Jesus would probably rather take care of his employees. I guess that makes me a heretic where most evangelical American Christians are concerned.
I’m ready for the stake, if you’re ready to burn me.
Shalom,
Scott D
