Review of Fearless: Imagine Your Life Without Fear

Who hasn’t been fearful? Lately, it seems like our world is consumed with it. But should we be mastered by our fears? Max Lucado has an answer to that question in his new book “Fearless”.
I have always enjoyed Lucado’s books. They have a winsome, conversational quality. It may be in part because of his years as a pastor. Still, pastoral experience doesn’t always equate with good writing yet Lucado pulls it off quite regularly. In spite of his conversational style, Lucado always manages to teach not only good theology, but most importantly to apply that theology to where we live. Theology that resides in some dusty unused seminary textbook is dead. Lucado manages to bring that theology out among the living.
I have a confession to make. Before I decided to review this book, my curiosity was piqued by the full title “Fearless: Imagine Your Life Without Fear”. You see, I have struggled with fear and self doubt all my life. My fear that I am not good enough. My fear that I don’t measure up. My fear that I’ve blown it one too many times and that God won’t forgive me this time.
It’s to people like me, the fearful, that Lucado writes this book. If you struggle with fears and doubt, you’ll find strength here.
